You see the World Differently on a bike. Berger Hardware Bikes is committed to bringing cycling as a way of life to as many people as humanly possible. We are equally passionate about cycling as a sport, as a mode of transportation, and as a recreation. We offer coaching/training and exercises prescription, as well as custom bicycle fitting and sales. In addition, BHB has a robust and active road and cyclocross team, based in Raleigh, NC but active in Austin, TX, Boston, MA and Ohio. The team races together, but also engages in community events to bring awareness to cycling. We also hold a variety of community events and races which are held regularly in Raleigh, NC.

We offer a variety of fitting services. Our background is in exercise science, we have a long history of working in the field of clinical exercise science in addition to the 30 years of bike racing experience. We also have extensive bicycle race promotion experience and have worked with and for some of the best custom bicycle manufacturers in the world. All of this and our lust for understanding each individuals anatomy and how to optimize it on a bike is what sets us apart. We truly enjoy getting folks dialed in to their machine/s.

Fits take about 2 - 3 hours and are done at Oak City Cycling Project (OCCP) 707 N. Person Street and are by appointment. Just give us a call or reach out to the kids at OCCP (squirrely@oakcitycycling.com/919-436-0527) and we’ll find a time that works.

We recommend a yearly fit or an abbreviated fit whenever you have a change in equipment like shoes or saddles. Get comfortable and make more watts with more ease. Welcome to the intersection of efficiency and comfort.

Costs and Timing

ROAD, MTB, CX, ENTHUSIAST BIKE FIT

Includes any cleat wedges, shims or spacers that you might need.
Also includes a follow-up visit or adjustment, if needed. Time: 120-180 minutes

At the location within a 20 mile radius of downtown Raleigh (includes service call).
Time: 120-180 minutes

VIRTUAL FIT (VIA ZOOM)

You’ll need to stream video and a way to adjust the contact points of your bike.
Time: 90-120 minutes

FIT ON A SECOND BIKE

Same rider as the first fit. This is usally at the same time as primary bike fit but could also be scheduled separately.
Time: 90-120 minutes

SHOE / PEDAL INTERFACE

Includes cleat installation/ knee alignment. You will need to bring your bike.

 For appointments within 48 hours, email todd@bergerhardwarebikes.org to check availability. Appointment scheduling has a $50 deposit. The deposit is taken off of the cost of the fit at checkout. You’ll get a refund of your deposit if you cancel 24 hours or more before your appointment.
